Copyright License & Content Usage Policy

Effective Date: February 27, 2026

This Copyright License Agreement outlines the ownership rights, permitted uses, and restrictions regarding the intellectual property created, produced, and distributed by Filmopixel Production House ("Filmopixel," "we," "us"). By accessing our website, viewing our portfolio, or engaging our services, you agree to comply with the terms set forth below in accordance with the Copyright Act, 1957 (India).

1. Definitions of Content

For the purposes of this license, "Content" refers to:

  • Website Assets: All text, graphics, logos, UI designs, and code on filmopixel.com.
  • Production Material: Films, short films, documentaries, music videos, and commercial advertisements produced by us.
  • Raw Materials: Unedited footage (Rushes), project files, scripts, storyboards, and sound stems.
  • Casting Materials: Audition tapes, headshots, and showreels submitted to us by talent.

2. Ownership & Intellectual Property

A. Filmopixel Ownership

Unless explicitly transferred via a written contract, Filmopixel retains full, exclusive, and perpetual ownership of all Content created by our team. This includes the moral rights to be identified as the creator of the work.

B. Client Ownership (Work for Hire)

Upon full payment of all agreed fees, ownership of the Final Delivered Video (Master File) is transferred to the Client for the purpose specified in the service agreement. However, Filmopixel retains ownership of:

  • All Raw Footage and Project Files (unless a "Buyout Fee" is paid).
  • The right to use the final work for self-promotion (Portfolio/Showreel).

3. Permitted Uses (General License)

Visitors to our website and viewers of our public content are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to:

  • View: Watch content on our website or official social media channels.
  • Share: Share links to our content using official share buttons or direct URLs.
  • Embed: Embed our public YouTube/Vimeo links on personal blogs or websites, provided the original player and credits remain intact.

4. Prohibited Uses

Without prior written consent from Filmopixel, you are strictly prohibited from:

  • Reproduction: Downloading, ripping, or screen-recording our videos and re-uploading them to other platforms (YouTube, Instagram, etc.) as your own.
  • Modification: Editing, cutting, color-grading, or remixing our footage (including AI-generated alterations).
  • Commercial Use: Using our content for advertising, stock footage, or monetary gain without a license.
  • Hotlinking: Direct linking to image or video files stored on our servers (bandwidth theft).

5. Casting & Talent Data Protection

Audition tapes and portfolios submitted to Filmopixel are strictly confidential. We do not claim ownership of an actor's likeness; however, by submitting materials, you grant us a license to store and share these materials internally with Directors and Clients for casting decisions. Unauthorized public distribution of casting tapes by third parties is a violation of privacy and copyright.

6. Enforcement & Legal Action

Filmopixel actively monitors the internet for unauthorized use of our intellectual property. In the event of infringement, we reserve the right to:

  • Issue DMCA Takedown Notices to hosting providers and social media platforms.
  • Pursue legal action for damages, lost revenue, and legal fees under Indian Law.
  • Revoke any existing licenses immediately.

7. Requesting a License

If you wish to license our footage for stock use, educational purposes, or commercial broadcasting, please contact us for a quote. Unauthorized use will be billed at 5x the standard commercial rate.
